ABOUT JESSICA GUTHRIE
Jessica Guthrie is a Sydney-based artist specialising in classical fine art, with a particular focus on figurative painting and still life. Formally trained at the Julian Ashton Art School, she was awarded the Sir William Dobell Scholarship in 2015.
Working primarily in oils, Jessica’s work has been recognized in several esteemed art awards, including as a semi-finalist in the Doug Moran Portrait Prize and a finalist in the A.M.E. Bale Art Prize, Gallipoli Art Prize, and Naked & Nude Art Prize. Her paintings, rich in classical influences, are regularly exhibited in solo and group shows across Australia. Most recently, she was awarded the Still Life Category winner in the Bluethumb Art Prize.
With a background in fashion design and production, Jessica brings a deep appreciation for structure, form, and intricate detail to her work. Her compositions, whether capturing the human figure or the quiet poetry of still life, reflect a refined sensibility influenced by nature, design, and the traditions of classical realism.
